How Does SEO Work?

Search engines aren’t too much different. See, search engines read sites and glean information that they can match up with what users search for. Why Should I Continue SEO Once I’ve Gotten Good Rankings?

Once you get ranked highly in a search engine, don’t you want to stay there? Search engines are always updating and changing their algorithms and your site can rise or fall fairly quickly because of it. Keeping an SEO company on board helps you to maintain that your rankings keep climbing as they keep an eye on the new information through constant research and tests. Nothing is static with search engines, so you’ll need to change your approach when the search engine algorithms update.

How Long Does SEO Take?

Gaining traffic is the result of an increase in search engine rankings. Once you see your business’s website climb in the search results, the traffic won’t be far behind. Patience is a virtue here, so don’t expect to see a massive increase overnight. Depending upon the age of your website, your competition, etc, it can take a few months before you’re website shows up on the first page of Google but you will see a gradual increase in traffic over time. The important thing is to see a climb.

What’s the Difference Between SEO and PPC?

SEO is an organic and “free” traffic source unlike PPC or paid promotion, which is closer to traditional advertising practices. With PPC you only get prominent placement as long as you pay for that placement. The moment you stop paying your ad placement goes away. SEO, on the other hand, does not require you to pay for placement as it comes naturally based upon the valuation the search engines place on your site. It’s also important to know that organic traffic typically outperforms organic traffic as its typically interpreted to be more trustworthy by consumers.

What Happens If I Cancel My SEO?

Any progress you’ve made will start to diminish as the competition gains more traction. Maintaining a websites visibility is a constant task, if you’ve only had your SEO  on board for a short time, then any gains you’ve made will very quickly evaporate.
