With the advancement of search engines its often said people don’t use their brains anymore. Perhaps there is a little bit of truth in that. After all you can pretty much find the answer to any question online these days. Early search engines helped us find information and answers to questions. New innovations to search such as Googles Instant helps us find those questions faster. It seems like the only thing that search engines don’t do is predict the future. That could all change very soon. Recently I caught a really interesting episode of Coast to Coast AM that featured talks on web bot technology that is said to have predictive abilities. The technology is based around a specific Web Bot technology that gives archetype descriptors of future trends and events. This is done by tracking changes in language patterns on Internet discussions forums. Could this technology soon make its way to search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo? and if so how will this effect search? We will have to wait and see.
